Synergy between companies and university
Collaboration between universities and companies plays a major role in national and international strategies. At the European level, university and tertiary education is a resource for the process of growth and innovation that the European Commission wants to pursue, through support and investment actions.
Ac.Ca. Building develops a constructive system for the construction of eco-sustainable buildings starting from the study of innovative design and construction solutions with a high degree of environmental compatibility.
The development of the innovative design methodology “Ac.Ca. Building “and its prototypical experimentation contribute to the achievement of numerous objectives, both general and specific, capable of determining relapse afferent construction practice to be adopted, seismic safety, housing quality, environmental and economic sustainability of the proposed building system.
The project has been developed in 6 work packages, divided into three phases, two of which are industrial research (phase A and C with 4 WP) and one of experimental development (phase B with 2 WP).
For each work packages, the specific objectives have been identified, the methodology to be adopted to achieve them, the final outputs to be achieved; the whole was therefore divided into a series of operational actions that the various partners will have to carry out to achieve the expected results.
For each work package, a partner was identified, based on the technical and organizational skills, who appointed a professional figure with the functions of Work Package Leader (WPL), responsible for the implementation of the WP ensuring also that the deliverables will be produced with the right quality, on time and within budget.
For the realization of the project have been foreseen:
18 months – for the first phase, study and theoretical evaluation of possible architectural, technological and functional solutions, with the drafting of three projects related to residential buildings (one with a single-family character to be conceived for a terraced location, one multi-family on three levels) and industrial; within this period work packages 1, 2 and 3 are realized;
10 months – for the second phase involving the construction of one of the designed buildings (single-family residential) with experimentation for the achievement of indoor environmental comfort quality (UNI EN 15251 standard), safety and energy efficiency; within this period work packages 4 and 5 are carried out;
4 months – for the processing of the prototype data and the validation of the models at the base of the design (work package 6).
The overlapping of some project phases allowed to foresee a total time of realization of the project of 24 months; considering the start of activities at the beginning of November 2017, completion should take place in November 2019.
The project amount is € 732.020.06, of which:
– for industrial research € 372.146,04;
– for experimental development € 351.874,02.
European co-financing was diversified according to the type of expenditure and the project partner, globally it was € 473.346,33 equal to 65% of the project amount; the economic burden on partners will be € 250.673.73 globally.
Professional figures involved
For the realization of the project, which presents a series of articulated aspects, a series of professional figures have been provided with diversified skills and experience, in order to guarantee a set of specializations useful for the optimal achievement of the prefixed objectives.
Each partner has identified within its field qualified professionals who carry out the different activities foreseen in the project work packages, external consultants complete the necessary professional skills.
